National Parks

I recently set out on a road trip with some of my dear friends – something I highly encourage everyone to do. It’s good for your soul.  We soaked up the desert and embraced every scenic view we could on our way to Zion National Park and The Grand Canyon. There is magic out on those highways that you just cannot believe until you hold it with your own eyes.

Zion is a bold zest of wonderment that immediately makes your spirit feel as though you were destined to be there. Amazing hikes that reward you with gorgeous views.

The Grand Canyon is one of those places that you just can’t understand or comprehend unless you’ve been there. It truly is a place that takes your breath away.  When you realize how many years it took to create this marvel...you realize how majestic Mother Earth really is. Time holds no restraints to the land.

So what does AVCD have in common with these marvelous National Parks? The power to preserve our environment, to protect the natural beauty that has always illuminated this world, to educate and inspire others to seek out knowledge. Knowledge is power, and power has the ability to change this world for the better.

Far too long have we pushed and pried our agendas onto this planet without any regard to how it will affect the future. We have been selfish and destructive to the very thing that gives life – Earth. I truly believe WE ALL have an obligation to do better. We have to. Earth has and will always be a gift to us, but we have forgotten how to appreciate that gift.

My brand is slow, it promotes a healthy design process by upcycling fabrics, and it educates consumers to buy outside of the “shopping” box and contribute to a greater cause. Why not seek out designers and companies who promote sustainability? Why not buy handmade from the USA? Why not put your hard-earned dollar back into this economy by supporting locally and ethically made clothing?

There’s power in creativity – especially when you can see something as it is but envision it as what it could be. The potential in that vision is what I hope every customer of AVCD appreciates.
